Luas is delighted to support Transport for Ireland’s ‘Baby on Board’ badge campaign and offer a free badge to expectant mums who travel on Luas. A Baby on Board badge is a small badge worn by expectant mothers when travelling on public transport. Instead of having to ask a stranger to give up their seat, mums-to-be will now be able to wear badges, which will hopefully encourage other commuters to vacate seats and overcome the awkwardness of having to ask someone to give up their seat.

Luas customers can collect their free badge from Luas Red Cow Depot on the Red Line or Luas Sandyford or Luas Broombridge Depots on the Green Line. There are other transport operator collection points nationwide see the list here https://www.transportforireland.ie/?p=8201&preview=true

Did you know there are already designated seats on the trams for expectant mothers and / or those with mobility impairments? These seats are close to the doors and are identifiable by stickers on the windows of the trams so make sure you look out for them when you’re travelling on Luas. The Baby on Board badge is an additional measure to make travelling easier for expectant mothers.
