Job Title OCC Manager
Reporting to Operations Director
Responsibilities
- Monitor service delivery and manage control room and resources;
- Advise the Operations Director of problems relating to service delivery matters in a proactive and timely manner;
- Coordinate and oversee all aspects of control room with the Maintenance Department regarding subcontractor work on the main line covering guide way, stations, tunnel and depots;
- Recommend, approve and implement actions resulting from an incident/emergency or safety and operational investigations;
- Communicate and report details of incidents to senior management and public relations staff;
- Develop Procedures and instructions with control room staff and other managers within the organization and the Operations Director;
- Ensure that all Traffic Supervisors are adequately trained, assessed and certified in their particular function and provide additional support and training if necessary;
- Conduct daily and weekly reviews of service delivery performance and prepare reports and provide data;
- Plan and deliver succession and development plans within the department.
- Perform and carry out other duties as instructed/directed by the Operations Director.
- Meeting the Key Performance Indicators according to the targets agreed with the Operations Director.
- Manage all control room resources to ensure the team is performing to the required standards and in compliance with the procedures and instructions.
- Ensure all new starters receive a full departmental induction and all necessary training for them to become competent in their role within their probation period in conjunction with the Training Department;
- Ensure the on-going competence of all team members and arrange any training that may be required to ensure up-skilling and continuous development of staff capability;
- Own the competence management system for the team and regularly audit competence records to ensure correct completion;
- Review non-conformances raised against the department regularly and assign resource to close out overdue Non-Conformances (NCs) within agreed timescales;
- Lead, manage and motivate the team, including coaching Operations Duty Managers.
- Complete annual and mid-year appraisals and identify any sub-standard performance or behaviour and ensure corrective action through employee development plans;
- Own departmental succession and development plans;
- Ensure that employees understand how they contribute to departmental and organisational goals;
- Comply with all Keolis/Amey SMS Policies and Standard Operating Procedures and all local regional
Competencies
- Ideally a degree holder or high diploma of post-secondary education in a related discipline;
- Preferably previous tram driving experience.
- OCC Knowledge of systems and integration of other departments.
- A mature, proactive and responsible approach to work with initiative and problem solving capability;
- Ability to liaise in a professional and persuasive manner with staff at all levels in the organisation;
- Good communication skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and work productively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment;
- Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and the ability to handle multiple priorities;
- Must display excellent leadership and motivational skills and be able to achieve goals and objectives through others, and ability to communicate effectively with other disciplines, proven people management skills are paramount;
- Good literacy and numeracy skills ;
- Ideally has experience of working with Training and Assessment Programs.
Experience
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is required
- A minimum of 2 years of leading a team of operational staff in providing transport services;
- Significant Experience of working a customer oriented and customer focused environment;
- Thorough understanding of general tram operations, crew management, roster arrangements, general depot working and OCC operations.
