TFI 90 Minute Fare applies to most Luas journeys paid for with TFI Leap Card. This includes Luas multi-line journeys started within 90 minutes of the first Tap-on at the Luas stop. The Short Fare applies to selected Luas journeys of up to approximately 3km.

TFI 90 Minute Fares also applies to multi-mode journeys that include Luas and another mode in the Dublin area. 

Don’t forget, you must Tap-on before and Tap-off after your journey at the Luas stop, including when your journey on Luas is after a journey on another mode. This makes sure you have a valid ticket to travel on Luas and get the TFI 90 Minute Fare and you won’t be at risk of receiving a Luas Standard Fare Notice for €100. It will also ensure you get the best value for your journey.

TFI Leap Card Caps 

TFI Leap Card Caps your travel credit spend, so once you hit an applicable Cap you can travel for free on the service for the rest of the day or week. 

Capping is part of the TFI Leap Card functionality. After you reach the Cap the rest of your travel during that 1 day or 7 days is free. You don’t need to do anything; just use your TFI Leap Card as normal on Luas. The Caps will be applied automatically. 

Capping also applies to multi-mode journeys that include Luas and bus, or train in the Dublin area. Don’t forget, you must Tap-on before and Tap-off after your journey at the Luas stop, even after reaching the Cap. This makes sure you have a valid ticket to travel on Luas and you are charged the right amount.

Daily Cap : First tram to last tram on given day. The daily cap period starts at 4:30 am each day and ends at 4:29 am the following morning. The amount spent is reset at 4:29 am each morning and cannot be carried over. 

Weekly Cap (Mon – Sun) : First tram on Monday to last tram on Sunday. The weekly cap period starts at 4:30 am on Monday and ends at 4:29 am the following Monday morning. The amount spent is reset at 4:29 am on Monday morning and cannot be carried over.
